West Berkshire Youth Dance Company, of which there are two companies,  Junior and Senior, was established in 2000 as part of an initiative to support gifted and talented dancers in West Berkshire. The groups are supported by Park House School, Newbury, where they are based.

The auditioned companies mainly work in contemporary dance and have opportunities for members to perform in showcases and festivals throughout the year. The dancers have technical class and rehearsals every week, which gives them a taste of training in dance at a professional level.

Graduates of WBYDC have gone on to train professionally at prestigious dance schools such as London Contemporary Dance School, Laban, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Millennium Performing Arts, LIPA, Bird College of Dance, IAB Barcelona, Read College and the University of Chichester.  Find out what our 2017 graduates are up to next on the Graduates Page
